Using the money we got from stealing my cousin's husband's shoes, sis and I went to Birmingham town today, with two of her friends (who wanted to come) for a movie day - more specifically, the Simpsons movie, and Hairspray. I wasn't too keen on seeing the latter, since musicals aren't my thing unless they're parodies/antagonistic in one way or another, but I was told to go ahead and give it a try.
Originally, the plan was to see The Simpsons at 11:30 in the Odeon, go to Wagamama's for lunch, browse in some shops, and then watch Hairspray at another cinema in town (Cineworld) at 3:35, but we ended up being late for the second film by thirteen minutes. The next showing was around 6, so we decided to pick a different film that would be playing around 4 o'clock, and I noticed that the Transformers film was on at 4:15.
I am SO glad we didn't see Hairspray :D I think it's made me into a Trans fan now (I don't recall the cartoon, as Thundercats, She-Ra and He-Man were what I used to watch as a kid), and it's true; Bumble Bee is kind of adorable in a way :3 Shia LeBouf is an amazing actor; he was good in A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints, and GREAT in this! I love how his character wasn't the typical, 'lonely boy who soon gets the girl' cliche, that seems to be preferred in films with beings from another world/dimension/artifical intelligence who interact with common humans.
Got a few questions for Trans fans out there, who are more familar with the series and toys than I am:
1. What would you recommend as a proper way to get introduced to the Autobots and the Decepticons, asides from the current film?
2. Have the Autobots ever interacted with humans, in the cartoons or comics before? Was it anywhere near as how they interacted with Sam in the film?
3. What's Starscream's character like, and how important is he to the Autobot/Decepticon conflict? The Decepticons' personalities weren't really shown in the film, apart from as the villains, and I've heard that Starscream's popular amoung fans.
I want a Bumble Bee action figure now...
Other stuff: I bought a new metal-spiked bracelet for myself from Oasis market (it looks exactly like my old one, except it's elastic whereas my old one had a clasp and eventually broke XP) as well as a red-and-black checkered wrist-strap :3 And I finally got issue 104 of Usagi Yojimbo (conclusion to Jei's origin story!...though 103 was sold out DX ) and volume 4 of Barefoot Gen. Both are highly recommended :B
