After another early copious and delicious breakfast, the five of us went out for a Nagano-ken tour in Suwa, Naraijuku, and Matsumoto and we ate everywhere: in Suwa it was
mochi filled with red bean paste, in Naraijuku it was
dango and
tea and when we went to this dango "restaurant" that was held by a very nice old couple, for some reason, they gave us happi (Japanese traditional clothes usually worn during festivals) and I still don't know why but I'm the only one who ended up wearing a hat xD
Back to our gourmet tour: in the car it was senbei and some snacks I can't remember the name and in Matsumoto, it was dinner time so we went to an izakaya AND to a ramen restaurant. Oh my poor stomach.
When we arrived in Nagano, the weighing machine told me that I lost a bit more than 2kgs since we are here which really surprised me since I feel like I'm eating a lot but maybe it's because we walk at least 7~8km everyday...? Anyway, I didn't weigh myself when we left but with everything we ate there...I don't even want to think about it xD
Apart from eating because yes, life is not only about food, in Suwa we went
to the temple, in Naraijuku we walked along
Edo period streets where sister and I each bought a bento box and in Matsumoto we went to visit
the castle which is a National Treasure of Japan.
We came back home pretty late and stayed in the living room to talk together but since we had to wake up early to leave on the next day, we went to bed but when we were about to leave, Hiroe gave us small Daruma-san as presents from Gunma-ken where she was before she came to Takahashi's home and it was so unexpected that it made me very very happy. In the morning, we already got presents from the grandmother and actually, we gave them French famous biscuits and cakes as presents when we arrived but I feet like it wasn't enough at all compared to everything they gave us during the short time we stayed with them ♥
