For those who may have known him, Niko has returned home. [ Alf sounds fairly accepting of the fact, mostly because he's had time to sort out his thoughts. ] He has for a while, actually. I apologize for not sharing the news earlier.

[ With that, he changes the topic. ]The year will come to an end, ( Read more... )

It sure feels like it when we're not paying attention.

[Four months here. Man.]

You as well, Kouki? You're right, we seem to have forgotten all about the time because of everything that's happened.

Yeah. It's quite easy to lose track of time when things get hectic around here.

Which happens every so often. It's funny how time plays with our minds -- the more we're conscious of it, the slower it appears to progress. And the opposite holds true for the both of us, here.

To make up for the quiet downtime we get between those times. I try my best to keep track of the time when I'm not caught up in stuff.

I believe that's the correct course of action to take. Sometimes you don't realize how far into the present you are until you consciously look back. It's important to keep track for the sake of proper time management.

[Chuckles a bit.]

It sounds like we are. We just need a reminder from time to time on that, like from our friends or a note we wrote on.

Yes, a reminder would be best if we find ourselves too preoccupied. Why don't we do that for each other?

Sure, I wouldn't mind doing that.

Then it's settled. Perhaps things will start to feel slower from hereon.

With us reminding each other, they would be.

That's what I hope.

With that settled, how have you been, Kouki?

I've been doing alright.

[Worries and suspicions about his cousin (kidnapped or sent home?) aside.]

Getting used to taking care of a pet.

[ Aw, Kouki. ]

Oh? What kind of pet?

[Stupid cousin, making him worry for weeks and getting no replies.]

A kitten. Her name is Kotone.

[ Gosh, Naoya, that's not how a cousin should behave. ]

A female kitten, eh? What is it like, taking care of her?
