Literature survey
I've had several conversations with various people lately about books that we read and loved, and I got thinking about what I might have in common with my friends list. I know there are some books that just about everybody in my generation read in school and can be quoted from as a sort of cultural shorthand. Others I know are pretty damn obscure.
Note: Not all of these are great literature but all were works I loved at the time. Some of the books I read in middle school were just downright bad when being reread as an adult. (I'm looking at you, Anne McCaffrey.)
Regarding the poll - I'm just looking to see what other folks have read, whether you liked it or not. And I'll count reading just one or two of a series as the same as reading the whole thing, for poll purposes. :)
