During further exploration of the boat, Kyouju and I came across the laundry facilities. I think we can make use of them instead of the more...primitive methods researched. The ship is equipped to perform desalination, so there is no worry about running out of water. However, I think this might sap some of our daily electricity, so I suggest that laundry be done during the day when most of us are off the boat.
It seems that the coast guard has had issues getting within range to come rescue us. All efforts thus far have been met with problems. Though, we have been assured that we are of considerable importance.
