To all citizens of the Empire:

Today marks as the 237th anniversary of the founding of the United States Marines. On November 10, 1775, the U.S. Marines began as a small ragtag group of naval soldiers that took on the numerically superior English forces of King George III during the American Revolution. For 235 years, the Marines have proven themselves again & again in "every clime & place". They are indeed one of America's finest military organization & one of the most elite combat units in history! Semper Fi & OOORAH to all of my fellow Marines!

Notable U.S. Marines quotes:

A CNN reporter once asked a USMC Gunnery Sgt if he was worried about sending his men into harms way. The Gunnery Sgt. replies, "Sir, we are the US Marines, we are harm's way."

"You cannot exaggerate about the Marines. They are convinced to the point of arrogance that they are the most ferocious fighters on earth. And the amusing thing about it is that they are."

-Quote from U.S. Navy Chaplain Lt. Kevin Keaney attached to the 1St Marine Division during the Korean War, December 8, 1950.

"They told (us) to open up the Embassy, or "we'll blow you away." And then they looked up and saw the Marines on the roof with these really big guns, and they said in Somali, "Igaralli ahow," which means "Excuse me, I didn't mean it, my mistake".

-Quote from Karen Aquilar, in the U.S. Embassy; Mogadishu, Somalia, 1991

"The safest place in Korea was right behind a platoon of Marines. Lord, how they could fight!"

-MGen. Frank E. Lowe, USA; Korea, 26 January 1952
