To all citizens of the Empire:
Today is marked as the day that celebrates the anniversary of the discovery of the Americas on October 12, 1492 A.D. by the Italian explorer, Christopher Columbus. (He actually first landed on what is known as the Bahamas today on that date.) While the Vikings, (Led by Leif Ericson) had preceded Columbus in discovering America by 500 hundred years, it was Columbus's discovery that brought about the greatest change for both the New World & Old World. (The world as we know it today, would not have have existed, had Christopher Columbus did not embark on that famous journey of discovery.)
In honor of Discoverer's Day, here's a music video from Ridley Scott's 1992 epic movie, "1492-Conquest Of Paradise" with Gérard Depardieu as Christopher Columbus, Armand Assante as Gabriel Sanchez, and Sigourney Weaver as the Spanish Queen Isabella. (This music video contains the famous Greek composer Vangeli's musical score from the movie.)
