Oi!!
I'm back. Not sure if y'all missed me or not but I'm back from RL and all it not so glorious calamities.
First it took For fucking ever to get my new glasses!!! Aye, the headaches I had!
Then the family illnesses started racking up, first my aunt had a trip to the emergency room and is now on her third week of a hospital stay with the "wonderful" (insert snark here) prospect of a quadruple heart by pass surgery on Tuesday coming. My mother is so bummed (plus we worry because my aunt is 80).
Then my nephew fell off his skateboard a week ago Friday (kid is really bad at skating to tell the truth) and he impacted his wrist (which I believe means he jammed it really hard, bone against bone) and got a concussion too (as if at 14 he is not loopy enough). So he had surgery last Thursday and has been an almighty pain since( his eyelashes hurt if you look at him wrong). I imagine he is in pain but the thing that gets me is that he feels absolutely wonderful when he's on the phone with the girlfriend or his friends call him on his cell phone and want to go to the movies or hang out...kids... =S
Then my brother ended up in the hospital when he was at work ( he works for the railroad and travels taking trains to different cities) out of town. Turns out he has a kidney stone that he can't pass so he's going to have to have surgery to have it removed. Urgh...heard it's awful painful.
Ah but then on Thursday (the day of my nephew's surgery) our branch got robbed. Yes, that's right, our bank got robbed. For the second time in the 17 years I've been in banking I've been in a bank robbery. Let me tell you, the first one was scarier than this one.
Weird part is the first time I was in a robbery I worked at another bank, and that day we had a girl training with us, so I gave her my spot in the lobby and took the drive up station because I was more familiar with the customer that came through there, So when the robber walked into the branch he walked right up to her, right to my station. That was so freaky, not to mention after he took the money, he left this big parcel all wrapped with Duck tape, all kinds of wires and blinking lights on the counter. We all thought it was bomb! That was such a scary feeling. Turns out it wasn't a bomb, just a block of wood made to look like a bomb (so surreal to watch the bomb squad show up and suit up and go in to the branch to check it out). I remember shaking and crying after wards.Scary.
This time was different. My lock had broken on my teller cash drawer and so the repair guy had just showed up to fix it, the branch was not busy at all, and since he was going to be working on my drawer I had to take all my money out and put it away in my back cubby where I usually keep it at night. So I couldn't help any customers. I wasn't even in my station because I didn't want people thinking I didn't want to help them. The weird part is we have someone from another branch helping us out because we just had someone go on vacation, so who got robbed, yep, you guessed it. The girl helping us out. The one in the station right next to me. Weirdness. Usually when people walk in I'm the first person they see, so they walk right up to me. My station is the first one. How strange that for the second time I was spared...(is spared even the right word?). Divine intervention? Luck? Good karma? Fate?
So the guy walked up to Sarah instead, handed her a note demanding money (didn't show or even hint at having a weapon) and for her not to sound the alarm, then when she handed him the cash he left. It all happened so fast. Like I said, the first robbery was scarier then the second one.
June has been one of those months. Ain't over yet either.
But enough about me...I've missed all you guys so much!!! Really I have. So many things made me think about y'all. Songs, movies, commercials.
It amazes me how much y'all have come to mean to me, sometimes I feel like I don't tell you guys enough how much your friendship means to me. Each and everyone of you has a special place in my heart and for the last little bit I've felt like I was incomplete.
So, ready or not, here I come!!
Hopefully I'll be able to catch up with all of you soon.
In the meanwhile, love you!!!
Lo
