People have the uncanny ability to turn something simple into something overly complicated.
Like relationships.
But let's not talk about that. Let's talk about work. Example, how long do meetings take? How long till decisions are made? Longer than it should, I'll tell you that. The problem is that we try to cover everything immediately. We don't have to.
We really don't.
A simple conversation turns into something complicated because you suddenly use words like "proposal" or "document" or "process". I understand the value of putting things in black and white. I really, really do. I just think there are some things that don't require such formality. I still believe in the human side of things and that common sense should prevail. A meeting of minds is enough to reach a conclusion. The reason why we have to document everything is that some people don't have common sense. Or they're too defensive.
It's safer that way I suppose. But I still say not everything is black and white.
