If wisdom begins by calling things by their right names, then what I'm going to say doesn't make me negative, it makes me wise.
A difficult situation is a problem. We will not call it a "challenge" or an "opportunity" or anything like that. It means that if you don't do things right, there's a serious threat to stability and you may suffer dire consequences. A problem hangs around with a big streamer that says FIX ME OR ELSE. It will trouble you. It will haunt you. It will make you doubt. And even if you do solve it, it won't always be so rewarding.
Sure, you can say that it's a matter of perspective. Sure, you can be optimistic about it. But some of us aren't wired that way. We don't have to keep forcing ourselves to be positive or believe that things will work out. Tell it like it is. There's a problem and you have to get it together if you want it gone. Do something. No one is going to fix it for you. It's your mess, you handle it.
When it's all done, maybe all you'll feel is relief. That's enough. You can think about life lessons later.
