Life update
It is freezing outside! I like winter, but without windchill factors. No wind with my cold, please. It was flurrying at the barn this morning. At first I thought it was little bits of sawdust, but then I emptied my wheelbarrow and it was still there. At least all the animals are happy and (generally speaking) healthy. Speaking of healthy, I'm getting a bit paranoid, almost all my coworkers are getting sick and I'm kinda due, since I haven't gotten anything in a long time. I can't even remember when I last got sick, it's been so long.
In similar news, I think I'm going to be spending my Amazon giftcards on a Carhartt coat, and maybe a pair of coveralls. Everyone else has them, and they look so warm! Even long-johns under my jeans are not keeping me warm enough. And I can't really fit any more layers under there. So time for a layer on top. It should be a good investment, they make tough products.
In gaming news, I'm playing Golden Sun: Dark Dawn. It's kind of... easy. I'm used to needing the walkthrough, but in this one the world map is one route, djinn are popping out of the woodworks, and you can figure out where you need to go next just by talking to people. The characters aren't as engaging either, as they were in the past. Tyrell is like a clone of Garrett, Matthew is the silent protagonist, though he communicates in smiley faces. Rief is annoying and not very helpful. Sveta seems like the requisite cat-girl, though maybe once I get into her backstory it will be more interesting. I like Karis and Amiti, though, and I don't want two wind adepts in the same fighting row, so Karis is staying. Hopefully the secondary fire adept is better, or at least more tolerable.
I'm also playing River King: Mystic Valley. It's very simple, but the graphics are cute and it's kind of addictive. I've never fished in real life, but I'm awesome at virtual fishing! And the collect them all games are right up my ocd alley.
