Yep, you read that correctly. I'm doing my Super Happy Pet Mommy Dance. Why? Because my dog isn't paralyzed!!!
She's still can't stand up on those legs like she used to, but she can move them and she does when she wants to.
Getting an x-ray and a second opinion from a different vet was worth the extra bill. Daisy has a calcified disk that is causing swelling around those nerves. Yes, this is still upsetting me, BUT it was caught in time and there is no surgery recommended because the doctor thinks it can heal in time with medicine and a changed diet. Provided she doesn't get worse in the next week between check-ups, it might take a month, but my baby will get better.
She's still determined to move around on her own (which I have put a stop to so she doesn't do anymore damage). I do make her try to walk like was recommended, but no stairs for her (she's really upset about that, too). She still has all her faculties, her attitude and the ability to give me the evil eye when I get on her nerves.
