i was watching the jeff corwin experience and he was in alaska (my most favorite place ever except the UK) and he stopped at a stream where the salmon were traveling up stream. i know this happens every year, what i didnt know is that about 50% dont make it because the trip completely exhausts them and kills them. the remaining that make it will most likely die about 10 days later. he found a monster fish and its scales all along its head were rubbed off because the water was about 2 inches deep and it was rubbing against rocks and such..but the fish tried SO damn hard to make it. (although it was clear he was gonna die). and the rest of the fish were swimming sort of side ways, flopping, struggling. so...these fish, every year, use EVERYTHING theyve got to swim upstream on a horrible, life risking journey JUST TO SAVE THEIR SPECIES. what fucking devotion.
reason #65435 i dont eat meat.
