Computers sent from the land of nutroasts and pigmies. Evil things. I had a nice long journal entry typed out, then it managed to delete everything when I went to poke my lunch.
Anyway, it was a quick *ahem* i mean long update on my life and everything thats happened but its gone, all gone. aggh, so I will once again have to do it in note form.
In the space of my 3 months at uni have gone from never so much wanting to hold hands with a member of the opposite sex again to what could almost be described as a committed relationships. The type of relationship where you wash your socks together. Which is scary and good in equal measures. I can't help feeling that a relationship is the last thing I want to be in at the moment, especially with a bloke who was/is my best mate.
(1 month after everyone else does it, HB reviews CoS)
I am reasonably impressedby the new HP film*. I don't know what the general opinion is, but I liked it. Although I still don't think Emma Watson is any better, if anything she's got worse. She's overacting and not a good Hermione. I also think she's being made too pretty. Hermione is NOT a pretty girly girl, she's meant to stand up for us not-that-pretty-or-cool girls. Why have they made her hair all perfect? Emma at the moment is just iratating me, there were some scenes I was just cringing at. I know a lot of people will probably disagree but I really do think her performance was bad and I don't know if I can blame it on bad directing anymore, everyone else improved. More Lockhart needed, they cut out my favourite bits, I wanted 'Harry Harry Harry' or him dropping his ward in the duelling scene.
Branagh was brilliant, I went with two people who were very anti-Ken, and even they admitted he was good. Riddle was good, and I liked Mark Williams as arthur Weasley. Daniel has really improved, he's a belivable harry now, maybe IMHO the best out of the trio. The scenes in the Chamber themselves were fantastic and Lucius Malfoy was good.
My major problem with the film was the ending, up untill then Columbus had resisted his urge to turn things into a speilberg-esque slush fest, but he blew it at the end. Which just left a nasty taste in my mouth when I was walking out of the cinema.
Anyway, good effort all round, and give branagh a toffee.
