Update for Tuesday August 26th - Wednesday September 3rd
I keep feeling recently that I'm decaying away. That I'm losing my mind, and that I'm losing those around me. I can't stop thinking that I'm failing everyone I've ever met, and I can't stop thinking that I'm failing myself even more.
Maybe I am.
Maybe I'm destined to fail.
I don't know.
Maybe things will change.
Maybe things will turn around, and I'll start to understand.
Maybe I'll wake up one day, and not wish for it to immediately be night again so I can just sleep even more, and not have to deal with this world.
Maybe I'll wake up one day...
Tuesday I finished the update, and then just hung out in my room for a bit more. I eventually went outside to have a cigarette, and while I was out I got a call from Sahaj so I headed over to his place to hang out there. I got there, played some Call of Duty 4, enjoyed some charlemagne, and a little later headed off to Brother's to get some free beer at some random girls birthday party. We head back to Sahaj's, watched some episodes of The Simpsons, and then after a bit of that I went back to my dorm.
When I got back to my dorm I realized that my roommate had completely moved out. All of his stuff was gone.
Everything.
Clothing.
Tv.
XBOX.
It was pretty odd I have to admit.
I got over the fact that my roommate had moved out, and went to bed.
Wednesday I got up, hung out in my room for a while, worked on some of my Spanish homework, and then once it came time I went to my Film Authors class, which seems like it might be a little like my film theory class...maybe...I don't know yet.
I left class, and on my way back to my dorm I stopped by Burge to get some bosco sticks.
I ate my bosco sticks in my dorm, hung out there, and thats about it for Wednesday.
Thursday I got up, went to my Contemporary Cinema class, and we had a pop quiz.
Fuck.
I wasn't ready for it at all, and it really stressed me out.
Class other than the quiz I would say went alright.
I got out of class, went back to my dorm, hung out there, and then I went outside to wait for the bus so I could go to my screenwriting class.
Screenwriting was pretty good I guess, and after class I hauled ass to my Contemporary Cinema screening of The Celebration, which is a danish film that is part of the Dogme 95 film movement.
It was a really good film I thought, although it was a film that wasn't too upbeat.
I left the screening, and since I had a bit of time to kill before going to Spanish I decided to drop by the Den for a little bit.
I got myself a pop, and then went upstairs to check out a few things.
I left the Den, wandered around for a bit, and then went to my Spanish class.
Spanish I had mixed feelings about, and afterwards I went to my dorm to drop off some stuff then went over to Sahaj's place to hang out.
I hung out at Sahaj's for a while with quite a few people. Grace (Rush's girlfriend) was there, a few of Grace's friends, Rush, Sahaj, Kyle came over, Wei stopped by, and even Ernie was there too.
We all hung out there, drank a bit, and eventually went over to this bar called Fire & Water...at least I think thats what it's called, but anyway we weren't there for that long, and when we left Sahaj & I went to Taco Bell to get some food.
We got our food, at a little bit of it there, and then went back to Sahaj's place to meet up with Rush and to wait for Josh.
We enjoyed some charlemagne, and watched a few episodes of The Simpsons.
Friday I got up, hung out in my dorm for a bit, and then went to see if I could get my advisor to sign an Add Form for me, but he wasn't there so I figured I'd just have to come back some other time.
I caught the bus back to my dorm, and hung out there for a while working on some stuff for my Spanish class.
Once I was done with Spanish I started to relax, and let the weekend take a hold of me.
I microwaved myself some dinner, watched some episodes of It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia online, and a little later I took a walk over to Sahaj's place.
Like Thursday night there were quite a few people over at their place drinking so that was nice. I drank a bit with everybody, hung out, had a good time, and around 10:30 Dan gave me a call to see if I wanted to hang out which I did so he stopped by, picked me up, and we headed over to his place.
On our way to Dan's place we stopped by Burger King so we could get some food, and then we continued on.
We had our food, enjoyed some of the Essence, watched some DBZ, played some FarCry, and a little later I passed out on his couch.
Saturday I got up at Dan's, and hung out there for a while. We smoked a little, played some Dead Rising, and around noon we went to get ourselves some lunch from Steak & Shake.
The food was good, and once we left we went back to Dan's to play some more Dead Rising before Dan had to drop me off at my dorm because he had to go to work.
I hung out in my dorm for a little bit, and eventually started to read some stuff for my Contemporary Cinema class.
A little later in the night I head over to Sahaj's for a bit. There weren't really many people there because it was just me Sahaj, Rush, and Grace. We just relaxed for a bit, and watched some episodes of The Simpsons.
Sunday I got up, and hung out for a bit until Tori & Dan stopped by to pick me up. We went to the Coralridge mall to get some food, and ended up getting some lunch at Bennigan's. I haven't been to a Bennigan's in quite some time so it was pretty interesting.
Lunch wasn't amazing, and once we left there we went over to Tori's.
Dan & I weren't at Tori's for that long before we hopped in Dan's car to go over to his place.
On the way there we stopped to get some beers, and some steaks for later in the night then continued on our way once more.
We played some Dead Rising, smoked a little, watched some episodes of The Simpsons, grilled our steaks, had our beers, and watched some more DBZ. Tori & Joe came over for a little bit, and then we all hopped in Dan's car and went over to Tori's.
We weren't at Tori's for that long before things started to wind down so once it came to be that time I walked back to my dorm.
When I opened up the door I was a little surprised because the lights were on, and someones stuff was moved in to the empty side of the room.
My apparent new roommate was sitting on his bed with is laptop, and greeted me when I came in.
I checked a few things online, and headed off to bed.
Monday once I got up I pretty much started working on homework right away. I read a book entirely about The Matrix for my Contemporary Cinema class. I got some lunch with my new roommate who seems pretty cool, and once I got back I started back on my homework. I typed up a paper about some of the stuff I read about in the book I was reading for Contemporary Cinema, and then headed down to the ITC to print that paper off and to print off some other stuff for the next day of classes. Once I came back to my room I got ready for bed, and fell asleep.
Tuesday I got up, went to my Contemporary Cinema, and in class we watched some clips from The Matrix so that was pretty cool. After class I just hung out in the AJB commons area for a bit until I went to catch the bus to go to my Screenwriting class.
I was about a half hour early for class so I decided since I had the time on my hands, and since I was in the area I might as well stop by where the new location of the radio station is to check it out.
When I was at that radio station I got to talk to Erica (the girl that brought me on staff in the first place), we discussed some things about my show, and told me that if I was able to come up with something more cohesive than what I presented to here in the first place then I could have that show.
After meeting with Erica I went to my Screenwriting class, which wasn't that bad, but it made me realize that I may need to really rethink some of the aspects of The Sinners.
I left class, went to Burge to get some lunch, and while I was there I ran into my roommate so we ate together, and then went back to the room.
When we got back to the room to I worked on some Spanish stuff to get it out of the way, and eventually I went to my Film Authors screening of Barton Fink which was cool because I'd wanted to see that film for a while.
After the screening I left, and was going to buy some cigarettes, but didn't and instead got myself a meal from Jimmy Johns.
I got my food, and headed off to Sahaj's place to eat it, and to relax for a bit.
I hung out there while waiting for the rain to pass, and while watching Rush, Josh, Terry, and Jon play some Madden '09.
Eventually once it started to get pretty late, and once the rain had let up I went back to my dorm.
I photoshoped a collage of the summer items like I did last year, and then went to bed around 3 in the morning.
Wednesday
Got up around 11:30, tried to get my advisor’s signature again…didn’t happen, hung out in the AJB common area for a little, went back to see if my advisor was in his office…he wasn’t, headed outside to catch the bus, ran into Erica, told me she loved the radio show idea and that it’d be perfect for the time slot, hopped on the bus, went back to my dorm, was going to get some lunch from Burge but it was packed so I figured I’d go back later, went to my dorm to do this update, now it’s time for Spanish homework.
Wednesday (today) I got up around 11:30, and went to the AJB to see if I could get my advisor's signature, but he wasn't there...again, even though I stopped by during his office hours. Anyway I headed outside to catch the bus, and ran into Erica who informed me that the idea for my show I had would work perfectly for the time slot. I'd e-mailed her the previous day about the direction I want to take my show in, and since she approved I now I have a specialty show instead of just standard rotation at the radio station.
I hopped on the bus, and went over to Burge to get some lunch, but they were packed like usual for that time of day so I figured I'd just come back later.
I went back to my room, worked on this update a little bit, and then worked on some of my Spanish stuff that I had to do.
Around 5:30 I went to the ITC to print off some stuff for my Film Authors class, went to get some food in Burge, and then went to my Film Authors class.
I left class not feeling that great about the material at all, and hopefully soon I'll be feeling better about it.
I hopped on the bus, went back to my room, did this update, and now I'm going to go to bed...hopefully I'll wake up tomorrow without feeling so shitty.
