Chapter 02
There is simply no way, that I could be in love with you
It was the first night Jaejoong was spending inside the Jung household. Compared to his apartment, Chagmin’s house was huge. Actually, it was a mansion. Even through their years of friendship, never once did Jaejoong sleep over. Whenever they had all nighters, Changmin would always bug Jaejoong to let him sleep over at his apartment. He explained that he was sick of sleeping in a large house. It made him feel alone.

And Jaejoong was experiencing such a feeling now.
Because Changmin knew of his best friend’s clumsiness, he refused to let Jaejoong sleep inside his room.  He opted to give Jaejoong his own room, just across his own room. The former didn’t complain though. Jaejoong couldn’t bear looking at all the bizarre experiments Changmin had in his room, all night

“You look…terrible.” Shim Changmin looked at his friend oddly. Jaejoong seemed to be in a daze. He had been staring at the wall as he ate his cereal for the past 10 minutes. His hair was a mess and his eyes red from lack of sleep. It was a far cry from the good-looking Jaejoong he was used to.

“I couldn’t sleep a wink last night.” Jaejoong sighed as he finally gave up on eating. He had no appetite whatsoever.

Changmin couldn’t hide the mirth in his eyes. He was still not used to Jaejoong’s abnormally high voice. The young man was finding it hard not to laugh. “Were you afraid that the bogeyman might get you?”

Jae shot a glare at his friend. He knew Changmin was enjoying their situation a little too well.”I will kill you when I get back to my real age.”

The other man did not bother with a comeback, letting out a hearty laugh instead.

While Jaejoong sat infuriated and Changmin laughed his heart out, Yunho had entered the kitchen, dressed only in a pair of boxers and a white wife beater. Jaejoong immediately noticed his presence. He felt slightly embarrassed seeing Jung Yunho dressed so casually. This was the first time he saw him in anything else other than a suit.

“You seem happy, min.” Yunho ruffled his brother’s hair affectionately as he grabbed the cereal box on the dining table.

Changmin was struggling to get Yunho’s hands off his head. “Is it so wrong to laugh hyung? Aish.”

“I’m not used to it.” the older of the two chuckled. “Good Morning Hero.”

“Good morning hyung.” Jaejoong grumpily replied, earning a kick on the shin from Changmin.

“OW!” Jae jumped in pain, glaring at Changmin afterwards. Being best friends for some time now, they could actually have a conversation just with their facial expressions.

What the hell is your problem?! Jaejoong’s glare was intensifying. Changmin replied with a subtle one.

You’re a kid for god’s sake! Act happy or something!

I’m mature for my age! Deal with it!

Yunho looked at the two boys oddly, amused by Jaejoong’s seemingly angry expressions. Instead of instilling fear, the kid actually looked adorable. But he still wouldn’t stand for horsing around in front of the table.

“Don’t play around in front of the table boys. Finish your cereal.” He warned the two as they finally stopped glaring at each other. Changmin was the first to finish his bowl, leaving his seat after giving Jaejoong a final glare.

Jae stuck his tounge out at him.

“How old are you Hero?” Yunho started smalltak as soon as Changmin left the kitchen.

The boy (man) immediately turned his head towards the other occupant of the table. He was too sleepy to realize that he was now all alone with his friend’s older brother!

“Um…I’m.” Jaejoong was panicking. He and Changmin did not talk about such a thing yet! He started praying to any god he could think of; hoping that the older man would buy his coming lies. “I’m 9.”

“Are you attending school while your cousin is away?”

“Not really.” Jaejoong started “He said I could take a break while he’s in France so I’m practically a bum for the time being.”

Jae was surprised after seeing Yunho’s expression. He seemed quite shocked after what he said.
And then he realized…he talked like an adult just now.

“Ah…I mean, Hyung said I can skip school, which is…cool.” He wanted to slap himself. He had no idea what words kids used nowadays-but he was pretty sure cool was already scraped from it. He was glad Yunho didn’t probe further about his little mistake.

“So, what will you do for the time being?” Yunho stood up from his seat, grabbing his bowl along with Jae’s.

“I don’t know hyung. I can play with Changmin-hyung’s games.” Jaejoong was dumb-ing himself down. He feared that he might have to get used to it until he goes back to his old body.

Yunho chuckled at the innocent reply. He envied how kids seem to have no problems. As he made his way to the kitchen sink, an idea suddenly came to mind. “Hero, do you in any way, like baking?”

Jaejoong stopped in his tracks. He was about to leave the kitchen, but immediately stopped after hearing the word ‘baking’. He loved any form of cooking-it was a frustrated dream of his to become a cook.  Not wanting to sound too enthusiastic, he settled with a simple “Yeah”.

Yunho merely gave him a huge smile. “I’m taking you somewhere after lunch, okay?”

The door opened with a large bang, making Shim Changmin jump from his seat. The chemicals he held spilled on the table, making quite a mess.

“Can you please knock the next time?!” He glared at Jaejoong, but the boy didn’t even seem to notice this because of his state of panic.

“MIN! I NEED NEW CLOTHES!” He walked towards Changmin in his small body, clutching on to the boys’ lab coat.

“Are you insulting my clothes?” Changmin looked outraged. Jaejoong had been borrowing his smallest clothes ever since he turned into a small boy. (Not that he minded though). But all the smallest clothes he had were either pajamas or worn out shirts.

“It’s not that, you pabo!”Jaejoong rolled his eyes. Changmin was really too sensitive sometimes. “Yunho’s taking me out later! I need clothes that actually fit me!”

“It sounds as if you’re a girl worrying about a date.” His best friend chuckled at his own comment. Jaejoong could only blush in embarrassment. “It’s not like that!”

“Araso, araso. Just kidding, don’t be so sensitive.” Changmin started opening some of his cabinets inside his room.  After a few minutes, he pulled out a small hoodie and black pants. “Here.”

Jae blinked for a few seconds, as if not believing that there were really clothes in front of him. “Where…where did you get this? This looks new.”

“I deliberately shrunk some of my clothes last night.”

“Deliberately?” Jaejoong wasn’t buying it. Changmin never washed his own clothes all his life. He eyes his best friend suspiciously. The latter wasn’t holding out his lie too well-he already had a guilty expression on his face.

After some time, He finally gave in.

“Fine. I tried washing one of my new clothes last night since the maids had a day off.”

A merry laugh escaped Jaejoong’s lips as Changmin groaned in embarrassment.
