sent in my formal application yesterday, got a phone call today from the manager yesterday afternoon, they want me to come in later today to talk to her and the department head. fingers crossed. i spoke to them both in person back in october and things went great. manager said during our phone call that i was on the top of her list. i hate afternoon interviews though; you spend the whole day waiting and waiting.

also, it's just fun to get your parking validated downtown.

paid the last of my overdue tickets with the city of dallas today. on the way back some vietmanese guy who doesnt yet speak english (he has a "visitors driver's licence") swerved in to me, put a 2' long white streak in my black paint on the bmw. i asked around and it sounds like it is going to cost $1000 to have the whole back end of the car resprayed (Black is notoriously hard to paint-match). i guess that's what insurance is for. i was thinking it would buff out for $300 or so.

im really pissed about this because i just spent four days + $30 reconditioning my leather and paying $180 to get it registered through 2013 last week.

my neighbor says they're getting rid of 1/3rd of the department they want to hire me for. i'm sort of curious how that will work out. either they would lay off the new people, or transition them in to another part of the operations department. they tend to not lay people off so that would be an interesting upgrade. also I noticed that OT is required at this job, which is easy to get since you normally have a 3 day work week and if you work day 4 or 5, both of those are counted as OT, which is a nice chunk of cash.
