Hey look at that!  I leave tomorrow.  That was fast.

My last week was filled with lastweek-esque stuff.  Getting little details worked out, seeing friends as often as possible, doing things for the "last time in China" (last dinner in China, last homework in China, last poop in China, etc.).  Things of that nature.  Had a last fun hangout in my room ( Read more... )

A few observations from my first November in China:

- More Beijingers own dogs than I would have expected.  Each time I see one of them, I kind of want to squeal.  Who knew that in Beijing (of all places) I'd realize that I love dogs enough to want to emit a high pitched yelp?

Over the weekend there was pretty much nobody to hang out with; China/Japan was gone, Shanna and Leanna were in Xian, and Midori and Won Jiye were both busy.  But it was ok, I can have fun alone too.  I borrowed Shanna's computer for the weekend, because mine is really slow, and that opened up two options for me: watching movies and talking on ( Read more... )

Well, China/Japan is gone.  They left 2 hours ago, and in a few minutes will be taking off for Japan.  I wish them good luck; I miss Japan a lot, and (shhhh!!!) I like it a little better than China.

The China/Japan group leaves in 9 days.  I know I'll miss them.  But it'll be good, too.  In fact, it's already been allowing me to make new friends.

My Chinese class is as follows:
7 Korean girls and 1 Korean guy, all really good at vocab and grammar but have troubles with pronunciation (the most annoying is when they pronounce their z's like j's)

I went to church today with my friends Calaya and Jason as well as the China/Japan professor Tad Lehe. It was on the east side of Beijing (our university is on the west side).
