McCain in a shocking display of morals.

Dear Internet,

After weeks of turning a blind eye to the racism of his supporters and implying, both directly and through smear ads, that Obama is untrustworthy and friends with terrorists, McCain finally objects when a woman calls Obama an Arab.

Here it is on Youtube.   I think this is the right link... Youtube is playing sillybuggers with me.

"I don't trust Obama [...] He's an Arab."
"No, ma'am, no ma'am.  He's a decent, family man, a citizen that I just happen to have disagreements with."

While the message is clearly that the attacks on Obama's character are unfair, untrue and uncalled for, he did just imply that "Arab" and "decent, family man [and] citizen" are mutually exclusive.  I doubt he meant to do that, as he was objecting to that woman's idea of what an Arab is, as well as her allegations that Obama is untrustworthy.
I believe, due to what the BBC said, that his party has been encouraging him to go full offensive, and I get the impression he's finally manned up to them, due to having morals and whatnot.
He also objected to one man's fear of Obama becoming President: "I have to tell you, he is a decent person and a person that you do not have to be scared of as president of the United States,"
He was, however, booed by some of his supporters for saying this.

So, McCain shows his sense of honour (which he definitely has, somewhere) and loses support from his radical racist supporters at the same time.  He does, however, expose the racist underbelly of America, which I knew was there, but don't like to think about.

Good day?

american politics, good day
