Star Wars: The Last Jedi

Spoiler filled rambling ahead! If you haven't seen TLJ yet, don't go any further!

I've just seen Star Wars: The Last Jedi, and overall I loved it! I have a few problems (mostly StormPilot related) and here is pretty much the only place I can rant without anyone yelling at me over spoilers (reason a: I've warned you already, reason b: nobody reads my posts)

Firstly, I love Carrie Fisher and her daughter Billie Lourde. I didn't cry half as much as I expected to, which I suppose is a good thing.

Captain Phasma needed a bigger fight sequence. Gwendoline Christie needs more screen time in everything always, I love her.

Rose! I loved Rose! I thought she was a great addition, which is one of the reasons I'm annoyed that they decided to shoehorn in a romance subplot with Finn for her. Apart from the fact that it felt like they were just trying to avoid the obvious Finn/Poe chemistry that everyone wants explored, the character is grieving her sister who only died yesterday, she meets a 'hero' of the resistance, finds out he's not so much of a hero, goes on ONE adventure, and suddenly she's in love??? She's known the guy for A DAY.
I really hope the next one makes it so that the 'love' line and the kiss was just hero worship and concussion, and she gets to carry on being a badass without her existence depending on a dude.

Also, StormPilot! I'm not one to force my ship onto reality, but c'mon! It's about time the Galaxy had some gay people in it. Oscar Isaac has said he's happy to explore that side of Poe, so even if we can't have our dream pairing, we can at least have one non-straight X-Wing pilot. It's way past time. And if anyone thinks we can't fit it in because there isn't time or a place for it; take a look at that random Finn/Rose scene again, then tell me we can't have a throwaway outing for Poe.

Ok, that's me done for now.
