Busy weeks

It is November - that means report cards at the school - the teachers have been great this time round and I have already been able to print several classes worth for my boss to read through. (Also already reprinted several corrected ones.) She isn't too sure about the way I have been doing report cards as it is sort of non-standard (in that I, like the Little Red Hen) tend to 'do it myself' when it comes to the collating, copying and filing of the things. Experience has shown that it is the best method to allow myself to be comfortable that it was all done the way it should be. Hopefully it will go smoothly enough that she will be OK with it for next time.

We are also clearing out some of the astonishing collection of junk that accumulates in a building over 40+ years. Things that nobody has been willing to toss, just in case someone, sometime might use it again. I realize that the old methods are coming back again, but perhaps the readers I remember from Grade One are a little dated. They do have a certain giggle factor, but the stereotypes are strange to look at all these years later. That and things produced on Gestetner sheets - I haven't actually used that technology (I use the word loosely) for many years - not since high school and even then it was considered pretty old-fashioned. Photocopiers actually do a much nicer job and the print isn't all smeary and purple.

On the home front things are nearly done (I keep saying that in the hopes that soon it will be true). Just a few loose wires to tidy up, a sidewalk or two to pour and some little tiny bits of painting at the ends of the eaves very high up (I understand why they aren't done yet, but it looks funny.) I have been very grumpy with the tile guy this week - it has been a bit irritating, but it sounds like we have found a solution that will finish that job off.)

Off to read a bit before I go to sleep.
