(no subject)
This is very premature, but I'm such a fucking geek that I can't wait.
This semester is going to be exhausting. But, it is also going to be very fun.
I've got a film studies class on Mondays & Wednesdays at 11 am (which is sweet). It's post-communism, with the focus being on (East) German, Polish, Hungarian, and "Yugoslavian" cinema. I look forward to seeing new films & being very confused. ^_^
I've also got a Creative Writing class on Mondays & Wednesdays, at 6.25 in the evening (which isn't as sweet). On the upside, it's at the Pines Center, which is closer to the house than South, so I don't have to drive as far. I also have enough time between my morning class and this class to read for my morning class (once the requisite errand running has been taken care of). We'll be writing a short story & a poem. I've got both of them done already--the short story is "Coffee," with a little name-tweaking for the sake of my sanity. I bit the bullet and volunteered to go first, so Thursday night, I will be reading "Coffee" to the class while they follow along on their own copies (provided by yours truly), and then they'll rip into me. Clearly, I'm a glutton for punishment, lol. Despite that, though, I'm looking forward to it. The poem I banged out last night. I'll give it to Christie to eviscerate, then maybe post it here once the pain fades away (you know I <3 you, ho :P)
Today's morning class, though, is what made me go, "Dude, I can't wait until tonight." On Tuesdays & Thursdays at 9.30, I'll be sitting in a class discussing Dante's Inferno & Purgatorio.
How fucking WIN is that, my fellow English nerds? I'm so excited. I can't wait to start reading. ^_^
Anyway--more later tonight (maybe), once I gather my thoughts. Right now, some housekeeping to get out of the way:
1) I'm about done dicking around with the trilogy. Christie's looking at it now, and I'll be sending it to Luis for his thoughts this week (get ready homes), and once the wrinkles have been ironed out, up the bitch goes.
2) I promise to post that fucking Japanese Culture & Society paper BEFORE THIS FRIDAY IS FINISHED...dammit.
3) Small Things will be getting updated some time next month. I'm not sure how big the dump will be this time around, but I'm thinking at least 3.
4) The next chapter of Captain Mis is slowly coming along. Just to warn you guys: don't expect it before the end of the summer. Summer A ends June 19, and there's a very real possibility that I may be graduating very soon (this summer for sure, though exactly when is still up in the air), so that will definitely interfere with the writing process. You guys are awesome for your patience with me, and I promise to reward you for it.
5) Do, however, expect one shots. Lots & lots of one shots. I've got a shit ton of them in varying degrees of finished, and as I get tired of fussing with them between assignments, they'll be going up.
