So I'm at Nigel's party last night, having fun, drinkin, smokin, having a good time. Debbie came over to me and said, "I don't think Marcus is coming so you can call your brother." So, I suppose being a guy, I decided I'll finish my conversation that I'm having and then give Aidan a call. So about 5 - 10 minutes later Debbie asks me if I had called his yet, "I said 'no' its rather later" and she said "Do it anyway, he doesn't even need a costume. Just tell him to come over!" So I call my brother:
"Sup nigga!"
-Sup sucka!
"You comin' to the party?"
-What? No dude, its almost 11 o'clock!
"Well, sorry, they were making sure Marcus wasn't going to be here so there was no unnecessary beef."
-Whatever. They said they'd call me and let me know if he was coming or not.
"Well, they obviously couldn't find out beforehand, and now they're asking me to make sure you knew you're invited, sorry."
-Look, dude, I don't know if you're drunk, or something, cause your always apologizing, but THEY were supposed to call me and let me know.
(At this point, being brothers, unlike him, I could sense the sound of sadness in his "raised voice." I know he was just frustrated that I was hanging out with his friends and he wasn't ((because of ridiculous beef that should never have happened in the first place, and like he recently called me I am sure I would consider him "stubborn")) Jeremy reacted the same way when we were younger, but had the time to get over it. So knowing that I can only go down a bad road with Aidan on the phone I decided to take the most passive way out of the situation.)
"Look Aidan, you're getting in a sour mood with me, so I'm going to hang up the phone, OK?"
-*hangs up first*
BY THE FUCKING WAY, it wasn't a rhetorical question, if there was something worthwhile in that conversation you could have disagreed and taken a different tone with me and carried on. BUT INSTEAD you sent me this shit in a text message, like I'M YOUR FUCKING GIRLFRIEND!
"You're a fucking dick..don't ever talk to me like that. I don't need your attitude when all I said was that the were suppose to call me."
Now, look. Addressing the cause, "Look Aidan," verifying the issue "you're GETTING in a sour mood with me," and suggesting a resolution, "I'm going to hang up the phone, OK?" That's not attitude, that's called solving problems with an adult mindset. Attitude would be calling your brother names in a text message and treating him like shit while he's surrounded by your friends. BTW dude you made yourself look like an asshole by trying to play it off nonchalant
And if there is one thing I can't stand, from fucking family to strangers, I FUCKING HATE IT when people say "Dont ever talk to me like that?"
a. like you have a fucking way to inhibit my right to free speech, ESPECIALLY when I am not interfering with your freedoms
b. like you're fucking better than me! if anything, we're a fucking family, we should be equal.
c. LIKE THAT WAS FUCKING NECESSARY!
Should shit go down at least I know I got a brother who "knows" he's better than me and can make his judgments off that.
