Walk the Line
Saw Walk the Line on Wednesday night...very good, if a little long, and Joaquin is more than deserving of his goldon globe and oscar nomination. I didn't know anything at all about Johnny Cash prior to seeing it so I had no expectations whatsoever and have no idea how acurate it was, but I did thoroughly enjoy it to the point that I want to read Cash's autobiography and find out more about his life. I have to say it must have been a difficult movie for Joaquin to make, being that Johnny Cash was, for a large chunk of his career, a drug addict...made me all sad, remembering how Joaquin watched his brother die on the sidewalk of a drug overdose :(
Anyway, speaking of Oscar Nominations (well sort of!) one of our graduates from last year who I know well, Sharon Colman, has been nominated for best animated short for her graduation film!! It's all rather exciting, we've had graduates nominated before, but to have your student graduation film nominated is quite an acheivement. It has happened before - notably when Nick Park was nominated for A Grand Day Out, which was his graduation film from here. I suddenly feel all star struck!!
