Because I am a crazy person, HOLIDAY FIC!

Nov 14, 2012 23:10

So, last year, I did 30 day so December fic prompts. I really enjoyed it. I always intended to do it again. It kind of crept up on me. But guess what? I don't really care. I'm doing it, with some minor modifications. So here goes!

Comment with: a day, a fandom, a character/pairing, and a prompt that will also serve as the title, and I will ( Read more... )

I want December 1st! Because of reasons. I will probably be napping and drinking most of that afternoon, probably in that order. (Probably.)

There is a reason why I am doing mine in January, haha.

Will be back later with request ideas. I will give you options to choose from! :-P

ETA: I realize this sounds, well, what I generally mean to say is please! IDEK. I seem to have hit a wall.

Does this mean it's okay if the fic is full of typos, because you probably won't notice them anyway? ;)

This is why I'm saying that these are really going to be December/January. Because if people don't actually want specific days, I am genuinely anticipating half of these to be posted in January.

And HEE. I feel the "please" is implied.

Although, if you want the 1st, the prompts coming soonish would be helpful. (And by soonish, I mean maybe the weekend?)

HEE. MAYBE?

Eh, I'm not even doing mine until January! I feel it's much safer that way. It's why I haven't even started signups yet.

YOU NEVER KNOW.

I have a few ideas, but I will be back for sure tomorrow with them! Please poke me if I forget.

LA LA LAAAAA. You don't see me. You definitely don't see me here.

Some ideas:

Jane/Lisbon, ace in the hole
Libson + family, holiday traditions (and/or holiday memories)
Betsy/Joe, love letters

I will be back later tonight/tomorrow with more, because I feel like you are either going to hate or love the J/L prompt and I can't decide which yet? BUT AT LEAST I HAVE SOMETHING HERE.

Oh no, I don't see you at all.

So, the J/L, the only thing is that I have realized that I'm not sure entirely what that expression means. Shall have to look into it. The Lisbon thing is possibly going to colour another prompt, but won't be the focus, so we'll see. I like the Betsy and Joe. That may require re-reading, so I'll have to plan for that one... HMMM. Decision time now...

(I think these are the types of prompts I may have to sit with for a day or so. As they sometimes are.)

Nope. I am definitely not here.

It's like a trump card, more or less? The unknown advantage that you pull out at the last minute. It originated from poker, I'm pretty sure (or maybe you already knew this), which was how I originally came up with it for J/L.

I don't know. I'm not totally thrilled with these as prompts. Except the Betsy/Joe one. And if you don't do it I might one day. Because it should exist. (Well, there's a Yuletide fic where it kind of exists, but I was thinking more/different from that one.)

ANYWAY, yeah. I really struggled with coming up with ~good enough prompts for you. Song lyrics were NOT working. Not even Vienna Teng. Which never happens. I'm going to try again tomorrow to come up with something else you could use for J/L if you don't like that one. I have had this post open at least 5-6 times in the last two weeks trying to come up with a decent prompt and BLAH.

Ah yes, that makes sense. I knew it was something like that, but then I was wondering if it was some kind of sports metaphor or something. Poker makes more sense since cheaters were always pulling aces out of their sleeves in old-timey movies (or things paying hommage to/mocking old-timey movies).

We'll see about Betsy/Joe. My only real objection is that it might require more research (aka rereading) than I am prepared to commit to at this point and time. WE SHALL SEE.

I'm sorry you're having issues with prompts. That is kind of against the point of the whole thing, so don't stress agout it or anything. And really, "Ace in the hole" might end up working. I genuinely feel like it could be a prompt I don't like right away, but end up really having fun with (like "Jane writes a musical," which I almost had a conniption about last year when I first read it, but then ended up loving).
