It's distincly possible that I am the world's biggest nerd.

The joys of life as of today include the fact that I finished exams and have nothing to do but write two papers. The problems of life as of today include writing those two papers. One is a research proposal for biochem that is broad based enough that all that it requires is the use of green fluorescent protein or a GST pulldown, which means basically anything. So I'm writing about the use of GFP as a marker in transgenic crops and their effects on neighboring ecosystems. Way to pull my own interests in the environment into the joys of biochemical research.

Only five more days in Portland. I'm going to the first college graduation I've ever attended this weekend- I don't really understand how I have missed out on so many important ceremonies in life- went to my first wedding the summer after freshman year in college, my own high school graduation was the first one I'd been to and I've never been to a funeral. Either I am a bad person and have neglected the events of the people in my life or I've just never had the occasion to go to any of these events. Maybe both.

And it's time to say goodbye again to a lot of people... so strange that it's already May.
