Everyone loves them. Maybe one of the best adrenaline rushes- studying like crazy, drinking massive amounts of coffee, showing up for said exam with a bunch of other equally worked up folks. Then taking said exam and pouring one's academic heart out to some heartless professor who will doubtlessly find fault in any answer, regardless of how complete and near to perfection it is.
Good camping trip on Friday night- out to the coast with one of my favorite people in the universe. Then good fiesta in 209 last night in honor of the 3/4 birthday of Jessica... perhaps one of the smoothest social situations I've experienced in a while. Good weekend. Then today, I pretended to "study" and acutally studied for a bit, but certainly not for the 12 hours straight that I intended to do so. Hence, in a few minutes when I discontinue my procrastination, I will return to chapter 30, the integration of metabolism. Memorizing these pathways and control enzymes and key intermediates will clearly be beneficial in my future life (please note the sarcasm as it drips from your monitor) and I just can't wait to spend three hours of regurgitation on Tuesday at 1pm. Good golly.
Goodness me, this entry has been utterly scintillating... finals mean that I'm leaivng Portland, which sucks, mostly because I'm leaving this place where I love good friends, love corking bottles of good wine and sharing them with the aforementioned friends, love trees, love conversations about chemistry, love shameless flirting that has no meaning... and that is sad times a million. Time in Blingham is shaping up to look relatively exciting with a few places of employment, a lovely vacay with Mary and some quality time with the fam. Goal is to make as much money as possible and do some serious swimming pre-departure for Africa.
I really liked junior year. And sophomore year. And freshman year. And I'm sure I will consequently like senior year.
