So yesterday I picked cherries off of this ladder and promptly ate what seemed like 3 pounds of them (ohhhhhhhhhhhh so good) which made me feel a tad bit sick. But totally worth it! The lady who was working looked at me and the two friends I was with when we brought up our bucket and said, "so did you sample a few?"... we'd been giggling and stuffing our faces the entire time- did she know? And UPick cherries at the orchard are only 80 cents a pound... amazing!

I only have about a week and a half left in Montana- whatever has happened to my time here??? And a lot left to do on my project- a paper to write, an oral presentation to give to a bunch of people, some of them crazy famous science people who scare me just a bit- I've even been talking about work in my sleep. Bad sign. There's plenty o' data to be entered and plants to be identified... do I have to leave the Flathead Lake Biological Station? Because I could really live here for a long long time.

Next summer, I'm definitely applying for REU jobs again and hoping like crazy to get into Alaska or Puerto Rico but Montanny is going to be a tough act to follow. On a slightly unrelated topic, I feel like I haven't been travelling in a long time- it's only been a few months since Europe, but for some reason I've got the plane ticket buying bug again. Anyone for Thailand and the surrounding area? Next May, perhaps??? I was looking at ticket prices and there are some really good deals on China Airlines- but then someone told me that pilot training in China is a bit, um, sketchy?

I have a lot of things to get done before August 28, when I disappear from life for an entire three and a half months. And continue to disappear with a potential family vacation (oh yeah!) in December right when I get back, then straight to Florida in early Jan. And then I have to go back to regular ol' life- which everyone here tells me is a pretty depressing event after being abroad for a semester.

And for the record, before I'm finished with my undergraduate career, I'd like to get SCUBA certified, get WOFR certified, join the paddle club to become an extreme kayaker and learn how to sail. Good plan. The to do list for the next 15 years just keeps getting longer.
