It's been a busy weekend. On Friday, I spent the better part of the morning and afternoon slaving away on an algorithms problem set. Then that evening, a friend and I drove back down to the South Bay to meet up with a visiting friend. Saturday was spent in San Francisco, doing very touristy things. It was all great fun, but my word count definitely suffered.
Honestly though, I've never felt better about a NaNo project. After spending a good deal of time today cranking out words, I've finally caught up to where I need to be, numbers-wise. And I feel great about where I am. My characters have finally come to life for me. They're telling their back-stories. They have ambitions. They even have conflicting interests! Granted, I have absolutely no idea where to take the plot from here, other than a few vague scenes of how this will all end, but I'm still enjoying the ride.
Oh Merlin. Never, ever change. Please, please keep me on the verge of heart attack by consistently doing magic either in BROAD DAYLIGHT or mere INCHES from the man who is trying to HUNT DOWN SORCERERS. ♥
Arthur was wonderful in this episode. I'm so glad the writers are remembering that he has matured greatly from his prat days. I adored how Guinevere was the one to convince him, and how the scene paralleled what had happened to her father. Although I do wonder how many more times this season we'll hear Guinevere give the exact same, don't be a pussy, stand up to Uther when he's being an ass, because you are a prince, and one day you'll be a king. AND DON'T YOU THINK CAMELOT DESERVES A GOOD KING?? THINK OF THE CAMELOT!, speech.
Wow, that whole dragon scene? Could have absolutely been taken out, and made no difference in the story.
Gaius's thou-hath-scorned-me face at the end was fantastic. And his speech to Uther!! Oh OH. About time someone dared to tell Uther that HE'S been a prat.
The teaser. Oh the teaser! I want next week.
