1. There's a new sticky post at the top of my journal! Which, uh, might have updated into your flist despite being dated February 2, 2020 (02/02/2020, yes, I like the number 2, shut up). Sorry about that! I took the old header post, left my masterlist on it, and backdated it to avoid breaking the link, so if anyone had bookmarked it (although, really, why), the link should be intact. If it's not, uhhhh, let me know?
2. This week's letter to Mr. Moffat in re: Doctor Who (yeah, I skipped last week, sue me):
Dear Mr. Moffat,
Okay, first of all, I have heard that the guy who wrote this episode is the same guy who wrote the second episode of Sherlock. You remember, the one that was boring until it was racist and boring? Yeah, I thought that would bring it to mind. Moffat, is this guy your brother-in-law or something? Does he have some kind of blackmail information on you? Did you, as a small child, accidentally sell him your soul? STOP LETTING HIM WRITE EPISODES OF YOUR SHOWS. HE IS NOT GOOD AT IT.
Also, Moffat, pirates, we have to talk about them. I have this theory about pirates, and it is this: good pirate shit? The pirate shit that makes you go, oh, my, this is so exciting and swashbuckling and thrilling? Yeah, dude, it's the exception, not the rule. Pirates alone are not enough to make your episode good, and I will tell you why--it is because pirates, by and large, were boring. Oh, sure, a couple days a year they came across ships and raided them, terror on the high seas, the occasional albatross, yadda yadda yadda, but they spent MOST of their time sailing blindly around the ocean looking for shit to rob. Yo ho ho and a bottle of rum, because you had to be drunk as so not to succumb to the sheer unending monotony of it all. And pirates sitting in calm waters? WHY DID YOU OKAY AN EPISODE WITH THIS PREMISE. IT'S PEOPLE. STUCK. ON A BOAT. WHERE IS THE INTRIGUE. WHERE IS IT. WHERE.
Of course, Rory was adorable, and don't get me wrong, I'm not going to say no to Karen Gillan in pirate gear, noooo sir. And that moment with silver eye patch lady, yes, yes, by all means continue to build that suspenseful little plot, I'm about that. But...the villain in this episode was a sick bay. I mean. I just. How did you look at this script and go "Yes, okay, let's shoot this one"? What happened there?
In conclusion: seriously, stop letting what's-his-face write episodes. I still believe in you, Moffat, but he is not a good choice.

3. Also on the Doctor Who front: Nobody Sees, Nobody But Me, by theonlytwin, a gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous fic about Rory in his 2,000 years with the Pandorica. This fic has apparently existed for ages, but I only just got into Who and thus only just found it, and it would be a shame if anyone missed it. IF YOU LOVE RORY (and I know you do), GO FORTH.
4. Signal boost time: guys, go sign this petition urging the Suffolk County PD to grant temporary amnesty to Long Island sex workers. As of right now, the folks at the Suffolk County PD have encouraged sex workers to offer any information they might have about the Long Island killer, but without some kind of amnesty, said sex workers can be arrested for prostitution by coming forward. And, considering that this guy is, hmmm, what's he doing again, oh, right, he's murdering people, I think that should probably be higher on the list of things to be policing right now, y/y? So click, sign, it only takes five second, let's do what we can to help get this guy brought to justice.
5. Anyone design-inclined out there feel like telling me how the hell I change the color on the bottom nav bar of my layout? I love this layout (and its new background, yaaaaay) but I don't want that bar to be black! I want it to be green, or possibly blue, the black is too harsh with the new colors. But I CANNOT FIGURE OUT HOW TO CHANGE IT. Please and thank you :D
