I think that about says it all. I hate it. Taking geology and intro to philosophy on the same day was a horrible idea! Taking a science lab the same semester with world lit 1 was another horrible idea! I am just swamped! We are covering a novel a week in world lit, and they are mainly old translations. So you read, read again, and maybe the third time you will understand it. This week the Divine Comedy, next week the Canterbury Tales. Before you ask, my hs experience was lacking and has yet to overlap on a single book. We did Medea as our Greek, not the Odyessey or Oedipus. We never touched Aristotle or Dante. We read 1 or 2 stories out of the Canterbury tales. Ugh!!! While I am doing well in my lit course, I wish the workload was a little lighter. Geology is a different story. We cover a chapter a day, and it's a bitch. His quiz questions are worded in a way that doesn't match his notes or the chapter. I am pulling a c/b- according to the midsemester report. If he would have given me the opportunity for the 15 points I missed I would be a solid b. The rest of the semester isn't very promising. We are at 280 points so far for the semester. I asked him how many there would be for the whole semester. Somewhere in the 900's he said. So halfway through the semester we have had less than one third of our possible points. The fuck? If I dropped the class it would fubar the semester. It would make me parttime and throw my loans into a tizzy. I can't pick up another course this late to replace it. Sad. While the potential is there for scraping out an A, I don't see it happening. Oh well. The 4.0 was fun while it lasted. I am calling in sick to work tomorrow to study for my quiz Wednesday in Geology and my midterm in philosophy. I need a break.
