Of work, doll wigs and grasshoppers.

I thought I'd try to make some sort of small effort to keep this journal updated again!

Work today was really good. I got a lot of things done, despite having to re-do a bunch of things that got done wrong while I was off yesterday. I was told that 2 more people were hired for my department so I'm looking forward to meeting them and training them in.

When I got home this afternoon I spent some time looking for a new wig for Amelia [her stock wig smells musty]. I looked at so many wigs, but I finally decided on one [one that I picked out last night, actually!]. I sent in an order and now I'm just waiting for an invoice so I can pay to have it made. It's chocolate brown with some raspberry tips and it's wavy tibetan wool.

About an hour ago I got a text message from Shannon [a co-worker] asking if I could get an insect for her son. He's got a project on insects for something and he really wanted a grasshopper. I was a little worried that I wouldn't be able to find one because they are very small right now, but I found some fingernail-sized little fellows as soon as I walked out into the field. They're just little babies right now, but actually bigger than what I expected to find! I saw some up at my grandpa's cabin on the 5th and they were so small they were hard to see! You could've probably fit 15 of them on a penny, that's how tiny they were! So, I'm really glad I found some that were big enough to fit two on a penny. I gave it some lettuce, carrot and vitamin/calcium pellets and it's munching happily in it's little jar [with airholes, of course!]. I sent a picture of it to Shannon and she said her son was excited. ^_^ I'm amused that I'm the go-to person for insects. Need an insect? Call Jessi!
