OK, that Kishka recipe is disgusting, and I won't be making that any time soon, haha. :) Well, it's the beef casing and chicken fat. Medieval cooking - fascinating! They used galangal?
Interesting choice of 9/10 Dr. companion. I thought it might be interesting to see Mickey at Torchwood, but it doesn't look like that's happening. I'd love to see Tosh come back in at least flashbacks too. I also really love that quote from Gwen.

I'm glad you're home in Portland, but some of us out here miss you. I was going to give you my daughter, wasn't I? Maybe I'll ship her out to visit you some time so you can see what you missed. She took out the piercing in her lower lip the other day, stuck a straw through it and drank a glass of water with her mouth closed. Ah, it's wonderful having talented children!
