First a Review:
I always forget how much I love these books when I'm not reading them. The story just draws me in. The characters, there are alot. I love them and hate them in turn, but they are real. There is such a deep plot and so much character development.
I find the first book to be slow and epic to read. Kind of like the Bible. but it is still good. The others draw you in more. Give you things to ponder. You have to know things. You have to keep reading. Things happen and you are like-- Whoa!! Especially towards the end of the second book.
What is great about the writing style is how things are explained in dialogue and not exposition. It is the best thing. And he gives of dribbles of clues here and there in the book and it is soo much fun to pick them out.
With out further ado, my notes/complaints/wonderings:
What is the importance of House Damodred. Is Rand related to Tigraine? Or more specifically Luc who disappeared in the Blight? Is Luc his father or Tigraine his grandmother of some sort It would make him Elayne's cousin by marriage. Kind of disturbing.
Myrddal prophecy-mentions Luc going to Mtns of Dhoom and Isamwaited in high passes. What is their connection and their connection to Rand? Isam of Malkier. Near as I can tell Lan's cousin, son of traitor woman Breyen.
Dragon prophecies mention binding court of Nine Moons (seanchan); healing/ cleansing saidin; slaying people sword of peace/destroy with leaf. Leaf has something to do with Aiel or Tuathan.
Min sees on Perrin: Aiel in a cage (Gaul who is at the Stone of Tear); a Falcon and a hawk (Falcon is Faile. At first I thought the hawk was Lanfear but then I remembered/read about berelain first of Mayene); Tuathan with Sword. Why is Perrin so tied up with Tuathan? They are looking for a song they lost. LOOK FOR MORE ABOUT THIS.
Egwene sees: Perrin, Axe vs. Hammer; White cloaks in two Rivers; Mat dicing with Dark One (Mat has crazy Luck with Random Chance things). Also, she sees 11 people--six men, 5 women around Rand, some helping some hurting, some ignoring. These are the Forsaken. I thought so and then not, because there are 13, but 2 died in the first book. And I believe there are 5 women. Which means the 2 really are dead, for now. Also, One linked with Ba'alzmon, really is only a Forsaken. Ishamael.
Forsaken:
Aginor-Dead
Balthamel-Dead
Ba'lel- High Lord Samon, Tear. Dead
Ishamael- Dead? If he is Ba'alzamon of Dreams
Lanfear- Selene, around
Sammael- High Lord breadn, Illian
Asmodean
Rahvin
Demandred
Graendal
Mesaana
Moghedian
Semirhage
One of them is probably Lord Gaibrel. Morgase's advisor. She is tied by marriage to Cairhiein. Thom Merrilin loved her once He killed king of Carhihein.
Is there a connection between Seanchan and atahaan Miere?
Is Verin good or bad? I don't know.
Complaints:
Egwene gets on my nerves soooo bad. She complains, she nags, she whines. She's so stubborn. She has no vulnerabilities. I'm glad she got leashed. Why does she keep fighting with Nyneave?
Rand is such a whiner. he needs to get over it. And so is Mat. he's such a freak with the gotta get away suspicious thing. Why do the totally keep being retarded and naming the dark one. Perrin needs to get over it and talk to the wolves. If he can keep himself a man. I HATE HATE HATE THE WHITECLOAKS. They are the eptiome of everything that bugs me about religious orders. like a witch hunt/Spanish Inquisition to the extreme. All self-righteous and judgmental and totally not fair. Did I mention Egwene needs to get over herself? Those 3 girls need to stop putting themselves in retardedly dangerous situations.
Ok, I think this all for now. Remember these are my notes and I don't want you to tell me the answers that are in the other books because I want to find them myself. After I finish we can speculate.
