the top photo is gorgeous.. it looks like a painting.. or atleast, something that SHOULD be a painting!

Thanks... You are too kind. I think it's average at best. There were much better views from other vantage points, but I didn't have my tripod with me, so I was somewhat limited by finding something relatively flat to rest the camera on...

How come you haven't posted anything in photochallenge or did i miss it?

We are our own worst critics :) I didn't have the opportunity to see the other vantage points but I would have to say that at least that view is gorgeous. I love the water and the colors and the light. It reminds me of a painting in an art gallery my husband once owned.. It was a painting of Washington D.C. at night and you could see the lights from everything reflecting in the wet street. A carriage, horses.. lanterns. It has the same feel/coloring. So pretty :)

I haven't posted in there because I haven't had the opportunity to take many pictures for the theme.. but I'm not completely stopping now. I got aggravated about the whole deletion thing.. mainly because I saw the conversation that spawned the deletion. It makes me wary to get involved in that community because it seems I'd never know what would happen to it eventually. I really like it otherwise though...

yeah, the whole deletion thing caught me by surprise. No explanation, nothing. Since the community came back I started digging around and found the answer, and a new friend, in colorofsilence's journal. That pissed me off a little, but I thought i'd give it another chance, because people really do post some gems in there once in a while.
