That's so awesome that he sent such a great message back to you! I emailed my favorite band at the time once, and one of the members just emailed back that they were busy on tour. I was still ecstatic over it, though. I know, however, that if I emailed Dave Matthews, I probably wouldn't hear back at all, which sucks, because I'm writing a novel inspired by their music, and the chances that they'll grant me the right to try and get it published are pretty much nil.
Ooooh, I loved "Good" when I was a kid! I couldn't remember any of the words or what it was called or who sang it, so it took me a while to find it. I had to rely on overhearing a girl humming it in school and then talking about it. LOL, and about a year ago, I was randomly chatting with an employee at the grocery store and it came on, and she was like, "Aw, I always loved this song but don't know what it's called." So I told her. It's funny how stuff like that happens.
As of June 1st, 2009, you need a passport to get into Canada from the US, even if you're just driving there. Heh.
I miss ya, and if you ever want to get together, just call/message/IM! It doesn't look like I'm gonna be able to throw any kind of a get-together until I get a job, which doesn't look like its happening. I am, however, granting myself $100 to do what I want with, since I'm only going to one Dave show this summer ::sigh:: Also, there are plenty of parks and awesome places to hang out that cost virtually nothing. Most of my friends live pretty far, and the guy who doesn't is decidedly antisocial (Hey, Andrew, do you wanna come to Hersheypark with us?! "Eh, no."). At least I have my writing group, which meets every other Wednesday. Still, I always have such a great time when you and I hang out, so just let me know if you're up for something!
The DMB has done for me what Ian Thornley has done for you. Even their most recent album, which came out less than two weeks ago, helped lift me out of a major funk. That's the power of fantastic music :)
