gadgetry & technology in this crazy modern age...

hmm. :/

it feels like i've been neglecting ye olde & beloved eLJay rather horribly, but when i checked on the frequency of my entries in the past month, it hasn't been too bad at all. i always viewd htis place as a repository of sorts, for my random mind crap... and a quiet, neutral place to work through ideas, come to a better understanding about patterns of behaviours and thought, and of course, vent out emotions. I still do that now, but I guess i;m saving LJ for the bigger stuff these days... the random useless mindcrap is finding its way onto facebook and twitter more often.

I do feel kinda bad about the fact that i no longer follow the f-list too closely... I used to make the time to keep current almost every day... Now i sit down for a good 3 hr, 200-entry catch up reading session every few weeks. except for cleolinda's Secret Life of Dolls "episodes", which i usually link to directly via Twitter. Because I am addicted and Must Read SLOD The Second That She Updates. :P

Seems like everybody's initial reaction to Twitter is kinda like "umm... WHY". I had the same "who fucking cares" reaction as everyone else. But i joined up anyway and started being One of *Those* Assholes a few months ago, only because of Chris Cornell's ridiculously entertaining thought-fartz (aka: "tweets") and now it seems there's just no turning back. :P Click the link for a screengrab of today's particular flavour of randomness from The Greatest Voice in Rock & Roll. skr00 timbaland

Anyway...

Right now, i have in my hot little hands a brand-new LG Versa.

I have fallen in love completely with this shiney new dear little thing, and promised to treat him far better than his cousin(s) the LG enV2, several of which I have dropped, lost, or broken. I told Mortimer (that's his name now) that he will be safe and well-loved with me, and I will take care of his wonderful little self as best I can. I have not made any actual calls with him as yet, but there has been texting-o-plenty and I've customized him a bit and played around with various features... he's got some nice snazzy ringtones now, and he seems to like me, also.

After the enV2s throwing themselves out of my pockets and into the toilet or under my car tires and constantly getting lost, after awhile i started thinking that maybe it wasn't me; maybe they just weren't happy and were better off someplace else. Mortimer seems to trust that I had good intentions and I never would have purposely left my last enV2 in that parking lot overnite when it snowed or allowed it to get backed over by my car or anything like that. :B He said that he heard in the warehouse that the enVs seem to have a reputation for being unstable runaways. Mortimer seems a lot friendlier and like a pretty happy little guy. I told him he could sleep on my pillow tonight, and I'm sure it will help us bond. it's like getting a new kitten.

:)

(this is what happens when a crazy nerd like me has a shiney n00 gadget and *nothing* better to do. :D)
