* Anecdotally, this makes sense to me. Given my medical history, I've dealt with a ridiculous number of doctors. If you exclude surgeons, one occasionally gets a decent male specialist or gp, but usually one has to fight incredibly hard and waste a huge amount of energy to get them to take symptoms seriously or run even basic tests (like an AIDs test for a sexually adventurous college student, for example. It was the early '90's and I had listed eight partners on my form. he insisted we don't have HIV much at this college. O.o. Seriously O.o. Protease inhibitors weren't invented yet). With the women doctors one occasionally gets a bad one, but mostly, they take the symptoms seriously, run appropriate tests, and will actually treat life threatening illnesses instead of pretending they don't exist. * I had a big long list of things I needed to do today before people came. I woke up from complex Edwardian dreams to discover I was exhausted and my legs were on strike. I crossed a bunch of things off today's to do list and took a nap. In the end it took three hours for me to dress. Nothing got done and I ended up making spaghetti after they got here. I'm suspecting I won't be able to pick up my glasses until next week, for example.
A friend has sent Tavy the Terror a purple baby sling. he gave it a good gnaw, but he hasn't tried it yet, as hiding from guests all evening tends to leave him wild. He even got his very own Christmas card.
