* Tavy very much likes the knitted spider toy. He's not ready to sleep in the open, but he's very active when he's awake. I'm letting the cats encounter each other on a limited basis, making sure they both get one on one time and he gets time to play and explore without her about. He's figured out that if he comes and sits by me in the office, she will leave him alone aside from glares and low grumbling, and that she won't generally chase him into the darker bits of my room. Knowing the pouf and the cat cave are safe spots means he's a lot bolder just generally, and he's spending most of his awake time out here now whether she's locked away or loose, retreating to my room when he's overwhelmed or sleepy. Squirrel is working on gradually introducing himself in small doses.
Addendum: He has discovered the leg mest in the cat cave. He sits on my foot like Hector used to when he was small and curls up with my leg as a pillow like Hector and Mache liked too. Apparently that is safe for light napping, even if he's not ready for bed naps with me.
