* I have been following events in Greece, but not commenting much on it. A few weeks ago a member of the NAZI political party, Golden Dawn, murdered an anti-Racist musician, leading to a lot of popular anger. The government is now cracking down hard on them, raiding houses, confiscating weapons caches, and arresting folks. Four MPs have been arrested for the Greek equivalent of criminal enterprise. If they are convicted their seats will be open for a new election.
* I am also aware of events in Bangladesh, but haven't enough knowledge of their politics to comment intelligently. Do not take my silence for lack of interest.
* The Shutdown Republicans say they are "giddy" about and bragging on as win? Not only are they denying people who work for a living the pay check they need to pay rents or mortgages, but they are literally denying children cancer treatment. That's right, they are celebrating killing children. They care so little about the people they are hurting that many of them turned up drunk for the votes.
* Lest you forget, they want to deny people the right to buy insurance for a year in exchange for about a month and a half of the government paying it's bills. Paying the bills they already ran up is part of their job.
* Dude! I just saw a Republican Congressman claim that Mitt Romney coming in second out of a field of two in the last Presidential election proves that Americans sided with him against the winner of the Presidential race on whether or not we should have health care for people who work for a living. O.o
* Meanwhile FOX "News" anchors are out claiming that all those people being out of work, economic uncertainty, pregnant women being denied food they need to have healthy babies, and children being denied cancer treatment, etc., isn't a big deal since it doesn't hurt them personally as rich people with excellent insurance. In fact, Sean Hannity things these terrible things are hilarious. Charming.
* A Little Analogy about the Coming Debt Ceiling Fight: If you showed up at your job tomorrow and not only refused to work while expecting pay, but threatened to blow up the shop unless you got a million dollars and full ownership of the place, you'd be arrested as a terrorist, not given all your demands with no repercussions. Just saying.

* Is it just me, or does Hugh Jackman sound a little like David Bowie in Les Miserables?
* I recently rewatched Children of Earth. Tonight I rewatched the Ninth Doctor's finale. I just watched Captain Jack Harkness try to talk the Doctor out of Destroying the earth to kill the Dalek, then give in to the Doctor's argument as to why he must. It gave me chills. Seriously, I'm shivering as I type this.
