What a fantastic weekend! Mark came up Saturday around 11ish and we headed out to PF Chang's for some lunch. He feels the need to order way too much food and after our lettuce wraps and crab rangoons I wasn't sure I needed lunch. I ate about 1/4 of my lunch and brought the rest home with me. He napped while I finished my book and then it was off to play putt-putt at Hawk Hollow. Now, since I'd played this course 10 or so times, I had the advantage and started trash talking before we get there - something I don't believe in doing because if I lose (which I always do when I trash talk) then I have to eat my words. Wellllll, I just couldn't help myself and continued through hole 1. Final score *coughhebeatmebytwo* really isn't important but we did have a lot of fun! He headed home and I got ready to head out to the middle of nowhere for the bonfire.
Christina's bonfire was low key but we laughed so much! There were made up stories, one about being in a horor movie - damn Michelle for being the only one to make it to the sequel, another about how the word hoe came to apply to a woman which morphed into a story about a bush that needed to be trimmed and a collection by the town to buy pruning shears. Ryn told stories about Africa - and elephants. We cooked our chairs, looked at Mars - right Stevo? - made fun of Michelle for locking her keys in the car, relaxed in the hot tub and all crashed out in various rooms of Christina's house.
Ryn and I left Sunday morning to head down to his house where he and his mom told me stories of Africa while playing a slide show of pictures on their TV. Tyler and Dylan attacked me repeatedly and I can't help but smile when I come in and Tyler flies across the living room FUSSY! and into my arms. I played with play dough, drew with chalk, at some food, won at a game of Heroscape and left late afternoon to come back to E. Lansing.
A bit of a late start and Michelle and I were out the door to Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids to see Breaking Benjamin, Staind and 3 Doors Down. We missed the opening band, No Address, but neither of us was disappointed about it. I knew all but one of Staind's songs and all but a couple of 3 Doors Down's songs which made the concert that much better! Michelle and I payed an arm and a leg for something to eat and drink and switched seats to a section directly across from the stage after Staind finished. Although Lance and Christina had warned us about the lack of gas in the area, Michelle's knowledge of Grand Rapids proved useful as we found one just outside the city limits that was open - lucky for us!
Kevin was here when we got back - and I felt bad for being so much later than I thought we would be. We got to catch up and hang out before cashing out for the night. It was great to see him!
A busy weekend but so much fun and so needed after being stressed out about work!
weekend,
