I'd like to say THANK YOU for bringing SPN back to...well normal. Very much made up for most of last week.
These thoughts will not be in order...apologies.
"Shut it."
'I just said huh--'
"I said shut it."
"Think they'll get suspicious when the baby turns Asian."
"Congratulations, it's a boy...sometimes."
The boys 'adopted' a baby. How amazing was that?! Dean was the mother, and Sam was the father--totally. I really loved how maternal Dean was. He was protective to awesomeness. "Give me the baby or I'll stab you in your neck." He won't hand the baby over to Samuel, so father!Sam convinces mother!Dean that it's okay and coaxes the baby free. Like real mothers being protective, Sam knew that Dean would give Bobby-John up easier if the 'other parent' took the child and passed it off, instead of trying to convince him to put the child directly into the 'strangers's' arms.
Dean gathering supplies was hilarity. He knows what to get, is still Dean in his "butt" instead of "bum" or anything else, he knows babies enough to recognize the child is about to break down, and grabs anything possible and runs to the check out. Of course, saying 'hi' to the man he passes. It was all very adorable.
Yet ats motherly as dean is, he's still horrible at it! Giving the baby whiskey? Holding the baby at arms length? I can't even touch on how awesome Dean 'inspecting' Bobby-John was. Please please give me a gif of that!!
Now...their "family." The question is really, is Sam *with* with them, or not? I don't think so. I believe he's changed as a hunter because of them, but i don't think he's with them, with whatever they're doing. Last episode with the Djinn's (spelling?) Samuel made sure that Sam wasn't around when he 'finished off' the Djinn. This time, he tells Sam to take Dean to the Panic Room? This makes me happy actually, because this leads to possible angst on Sam's part of 'I trusted them and shouldn't have' when things get revealed, and therefore ensures Sam and Dean will be back together soon (as if I *really* doubted that).
Though, after the "Then/Now" I did think that Sam and Co. were a bunch of shifters. I was babysitting when the Then/Now came on, and I turned it off right after, but then I had 3 hours until I got to actually watch the episode after that to think about that. Not that I thought much past 'Sam's a shifter!'...but oh well. Obviously the shifter arc isn't closed considering the monster *won* this episode.
Yay that one of Samuel's gang is gone. But...who is he (They? Is Samuel the only one really knowing what's going on? Boss, then Samuel, then gang, then Sam in the hierarchy of knowledge?) working for? I don't have many theories on this one yet. I could spew out names, but I dunno. Also, there's still the issue of 'Where did these people come from??' All of Mary's relatives were killed off. We heard it, we saw Sam research it (and Sam doesn't mess up often) and we're supposed to believe that these guys somehow slipped through Sam's research, Ruby's knowledge, and the demon who killed them all off? I dunno...
What about the end? The whole bisexuality undertone? "Who says it' has to be either or?Why don't we break the rules?" Shared custody of Dean!!
I really liked that the baby 'exploded' into the baby that was on the diaper box. xD
I was really hoping that the baby would 'explode' in Sam's car and therefore force them to use the Impala again. *sad*
But the Impala is BACK!!!! Sexiest montage ever. And how happy dean was to uncover it! Just eyeing it up. Mmm....
Did I imagine it, or was Dean's shirt untucked versus the tucked from last week? =D
Why is Ben kinda weak? I mean, how much has Dean yelled at him for him to be so compliant and shying from his anger? Was Dean an angry drunk in his time of drinking and researching to find already-raised-Sam? He was a badass kid, and I expected him to continue along his road of seeming to be exactly like Dean. I mean, in Changling, he was pretty awesome and solid. But now...
Unless...*has a thought*. Maybe it is just like Dean. He's following orders from his father figure. Idolizes Dean and thinks if he's yelled at, it is obviously his fault and nothing to do with 'Daddy' being in the wrong.
"I wonder about me too." Alright, so tell Dean what's wrong and he'll help you. =\ Really. lol
I'm concerned about the fact that Bobby was the first person he goes to after he comes back from Hell, and yet he thinks that the safest place for Bobby-John is with the Campells? Why not Bobby?! And Dean--why didn't you think of Bobby?!
When Sam finds the baby, his face seems to convey a lot more than "Oh, monster left the baby behind when I scared it into coming out (of the closet?! haha)" and same with Dean when Sam is telling him why he's going to drive out. Now, if Sam didn't know the baby was a shifter, or that there was an Alpha (which is debateable, but even if he knew, he obviously didn't tell Dean)...what did he say to Dean? "Hey, I have a baby here"? I fail to find something that would create those facial reactions from the boys. Sure a 'oh, a baby' or something, but it seemed as if right from the beginning Sam was going "Shit, I just found a baby, and he 'sploded on me....Dean help me with this monster baby please." So, I dunno.
Didn't the Dijnn last week say something about their Father too? Have all the Alpha's of every demon/species been released? Is this the arc for this season?
Two Sam's! Two Dean's! *squee*
But, in regard's to Dean's he-doesn't-know-them line, or similar...I forget it exaclty... He doesn't trust them because he doesn't know them...but...he really didn't know Lisa at all when he knocked on her door and lived with her...? So..yea. BUT, I kinda hate Sam for telling (Christian?) Campells about what Dean did in hell. First of all, what business is it of theirs? Especially if Sam was planning on leaving Dean alone?? Second, Sam jsut came back FROM Hell and he doesn't want Dean to know what went on, so why does he think it's okay to tell these people about Dean's time in Hell? Grr...
Ooh, I just read this: "Also he stabbed the Alpha shape-shifter in the heart with a silver blade while everybody else was shooting tranqs. Why would Mark go for the kill, while the other Campbells went for the capture? Could it be because they are all under some kind of duress to capture, that Mark wasn’t quite on board with, hence his staunch silence and then instinctively just went in for the kill? " by
cloverautrey here and that's a *really* good point!! I hadn't thought of that!!
Where are these monsters the Campell's are capturing?? =\
I'm thinking that Sam somehow merged with Lucifer. He's half Sam half Lucy. The focus seems to be on the Fathers of the demon types. But who is the Father of the Fathers? Lucifer. Why are the sub-fathers being captured and not killed? Because Sam needs them for something? Oooh, that'd be fun...
Dean's back with his magic fingers!
So...sorry that was so....ramblific. Really out of order...
I loved the episode though!!
