sleeeeeeeeeeeeep
Man, am I tired! It’s been a long few days! Wednesday was stock take day at work so I worked the graveyard shift. Usually I start at around 5 every afternoon but we couldn’t start our job until stock take were finished on the shop floor, anyway, we finally started at 10 pm and finished several hours later, whereupon I arrived back home, fell into bed and drooled like I have never drooled before! What makes everything even more fun is that I started my teacher training the morning after :s so as you can imagine, lack of sleep and all, I wasn’t very much in the mood to concentrate on phonemes and morphemes and definitions of language learning and acquisition and how we can apply those to TESOL… I did, however, have a very nice chat with Lourdes, a Brazilian lady, about how in Portuguese you wouldn’t refer to an unborn baby as ‘it’, which was informative! I was also pretty amused when, after having talked to another of my classmates, Jack, we discovered that we have both lived on the same street in Newcastle!! ….small world! I did enjoy my day and if this first session is anything to go by I think that I’m going to enjoy this course… although I’m going to have to be really motivated (arrrghhh… the horror!)
Anyway, today it’s Friday and Marty is coming over for the weekend, woohoo! I’m at work Friday and Saturday night mind you, but only for 3 hour shifts, so it’s not so bad. I’ll have to clean the piggies out at some point too. The little babies are growing up quickly, I have one male and one female but I’m keeping them both and having the little fellow castrated just like my other male (I’m horrible aren’t I?) Kim is sending me out a copy of her zine, which I’m looking forward to! Oh btw Kim, if you’re reading this my internet connection is crap and dies on me a lot, I don’t just stop talking to you for no reason, it’s because I can’t, the internet refuses to be my wench!
*thinks* I don’t think there’s anything else new going on. Just plodding along as always (and aching like hell in the process!) I think that I need a nice long soak in the bath… shame I don’t have the time, best to go and order those other books that I need and finish the one that’s making me want to burn everything >.< oh, it’s all one big laugh!!
