anyway... in other news, hello there!! *waves like a maniac* it's been so long since i last updated, and so much has happened since then, so come on children, gather around and uncle gward will tell you a tale of adventure, intrigue and... mould!!!
so yes, marty and i moved to newcastle in august (the 31st to be exact), fun time that it was too, i was unforgiving in my arranging of the kitchen, and unstoppable in my desire to make the place hygenic, much to marty's irritation as he was so 'pleasently' coerced into assisting when all he wanted to do was move in gradually. in the end we had all our boxes unpacked by the end of the day, mwahahaha!! the following day i had my abscess and two of my wisdom teeth removed, which was nowhere near as unpleasent as I thought it would be, granted i did spend the better part of the day under heavy sedation!
the following month was spent trying to find a job (which i eventually found two months later, in november)
and I'm still there now, slaving away 12 hours a week doing nothing but stock counts and price changes, oh woe is me. actually i don't really mind it, they let me get on with it and because i work evenings there are no customers to deal with... hurray!!!
now my dear readers, let me tell you all about university! well suffice to say that i loved it so much i re-applied to durham within 2 months of starting and have since unenrolled. durham accepted me, unconditionally and i will start there in late september/early october. with regards to the 'to let' advertisement above, marty and i signed a contract for a new flat before we knew that our circumstanaces were going to change; i.e. changing university etc... so we have decided that it is in our best interest to move home as soon as possible (currently we're still living in our original flat, more of that later) as a result we need to get out of our contract with the prospective landlord, who is now, after having had a little chat with him, re-letting the property. if a new tenant cannot be found, we're responsible for it, in other words, we'll have to pay for it regardless if we live in it or not, therefore we're taking it into our own hands to advertise it, having received the landlords permission to do so. so if anybody is interested, or knows anybody who is interested, please let me know and i can give you all the details!!
right, now to our current flat, well it's amazing how quickly facades can fade! we moved in, everything looked good, we were happy (we had our own place, who wouldn't be happy?!) we're still happy, as a couple things are going as well as ever, if only the same could be said about this place. well where to start, there are cracks in the walls (you can actually stand in the hallway look through a crack in the wall and see the tv in the living room!) we have three types of damp!! the noise from the neighbours is ungodly (gangsta rap crap at 2 in the morning is just taking the piss) the hotwater tap in the bathroom is a tempermental piece of crap and what's more the external wall in the bedroom is mouldy (due to the copious amounts of damp, of course) well, the landlord who shall remain nameless *coughs* northumbrian (oh dear did that slip out) are totally useless, despite reporting all the above problems they have failed to do anything about them, as a matter of fact my dad, marty and myself have fixed most of them as best we can, with no help whatsoever. needless to say i would not recommend them!
hmm... what else, well generally this year has been a great experience, and i'll take a lot away from it, i doubt i'll ever want to live in a city ever again. no offence to city dwellers but they just aren't for me, give me the countryside anyday!! i think i've also learnt who my real friends are, as a matter of fact hardly anybody has bothered to keep in touch, nobody at all (outside of marty and family) remembered my birthday. except one person, who remembered it a week later and admitted that she didn't want to say anything, naturally a great deal of fuss will be expected when her birthday comes around... i think not.
so yes, this year has been a great experience, i know what i want out of life and i have a feeling i know where i'm going and who i am. well that's about, nothing else to really write about. hope to hear from some of you sometime and rememeber, let me know if you're interested in the flat!
