Halloween prep is underway. This year we're doing "Jurassic Cottage" which is a small outpost in the Jurassic World theme park (or so I'm pretending). Dom is working on ID tags and a patch for my uniform. I'm going to be a Dinosaur Wrangler and he is going to be a dinosaur. I'm building a ride on baby triceratops (fingers crossed). It'll be just mounted on wheels and pushed but it'll be awesome if I can pull it off.
The kids on the block were on hand, as usual, to help. Buddy hurt his leg yesterday as well. He's been limping since yesterday afternoon. I'm going to work from home tomorrow so I can get him to the vet.
I'm reading "
redployment" by Phil Klay and it is brilliant. Our local bookseller recommended it and it is honestly one of the best insights into PTSD and the experience of modern military members I've come across. It is also crisply written and totally engaging.
