So it's Halloween. To me it's more than dressing up, going to parties, carving pumpkins and eating candy. Now, don't get me wrong, I love all of this. In fact I plan on being my princess self again this year. Today's more about tomorrow though, and that's November 1, the start of NaNoWriMo!!!
Normally, I don't do any sort of planning and let my plot come out of the woodworks as I write. This year, I actually have a vague concept of a plot, and 2 minor characters. My plot idea is that a girl is walking in a park and find a journal in a hollowed out tree. Along the way, she finds out that she's not the only one who reads this journal. Love will come into play at some point, and I'm planning on having a lot of comedic events going on. Hopefully this one will be much more fun to write than last year's, which was just a downer. The two characters I have are based on 2 of my profs. One of them is a frying pan salesman, and I think I'm going to make him a neighbor. The other is an Indian guy who just came to the US and is named Ernie. I'm not sure what he's going to do in my story, but he'll be in there somehow.
I have my first meet-up with my Wrimos tonight at IHOP. I think there's going to be 3 of us tonight, but I can't check for sure until the NaNo site is back up and running. We're coming in costumes to make things more fun. It should be an interesting sight to see pricesses, and other people dressed up working around laptops, searching for plot bunnies, and gulping down massive amounts of coffee and pankcakes. Oh man I'm so excited!
