Hammered

Okay, metal working is a work out. I spent the whole class today pounding a texture into my piece and my arm is tired as hell. I also bashed my knuckles and fingers a few times, but that's not a shocker. Trying to hit the top of a metal tool while guiding the tip and watching where you're going is going to result in some misses.

Still, everyone in my class - professor included - really liked how things turned out and everyone's really impressed with the piece so far. I've got to rivet on the mane and the ear and then It's pretty much done, except for sanding and polishing. I also want to mount it on a piece of stained wood so that it's got a good background and the metal will really stand out. Anyway, here's an updated picture you can all ooh and aah over.

In other, non-jewelry related news... I don't think I have non-jewelry related news. I have a paper to turn in tomorrow and I've got to start getting my History portfolio together but... that's about it for any sort of news stuff. Things are kinda dull since they stopped working on my apartment every single day.

I like it.
