Happy 2013 friends!
I know I have not been overly diligent with my updates and my new year's resolution is to update once a week. Everyone get mad if I don't. It's nice to look back and have some record of memories.
On the family front, things are in uproar. My aunts are taking my mom to court for power of attorney over my dad as they say my mom is mismanaging my dad's finances. I am trying to assist my mom in preparing the documents needed. I've also just been informed that my aunts are so meddling and confrontational with the staff at the Good Sam, that they are holding a meeting and if the aunts do not back off, they will be banned from the home. There is also numerous documents about complaints and confrontations staff have had with my aunts. They're crazy!!!
My uncle Norman also informed us after Christmas dinner with his family, that him and my aunt are splitting up and that he's met someone else already and is in love. I am really happy for him as I did always feel that they were not a compatible couple, however, I also worry that my uncle is going through some sort of midlife crisis and may regret his decision later.
Horse wise, after taking the fall off, I have been riding Scotty. He's an 8 (?) year old bay gelding owned by J-F who is no longer riding (for unknown reasons). He's Dutch/QH x Percheron I believe. He is as big as he sounds and moves like a cart horse. He's the sweetest boy ever with tons of try and heart and zero attitude which makes up for his less than steller movement. He has been shown in the jumpers quite extensively but truthfully lacks tons of background work. He feels like a brick and everyone can hear him coming. Slowly, he's starting to lighten up on his feet and relax through his back. I have free rein to do whatever I wish to so I essentially ride whenever I want.
I share an office with another company which handles some of our equipment needed for jobs (trucks and heavy equipment). There's a guy there named Tyson who I met early on in September. We got along decently well then and have been friendly through the fall. At some point we began to text each other and have a drink after work. This slowly evolved into hour long texting and phone conversations and hanging out outside of work. Finally after Christmas we have begun to "see" each other. Its interesting because while we have yet to actually acknowledge we are dating, we clearly are. We have gone out for dinner and continue to make numerous plans. His family raises bucking horses and horses are everything to him. He quoted "Horses are your soul. Dogs are your heart." He's also a huge dog person. We have the best connection ever and can talk about anything. We share a lot of the same goals and see things very similarly. He's incredibily intelligent and we have discussions on everything. This sunday we are going for breakfast and then a trail ride and then.... typically when we are together we end up spending 7-10 hours just chatting. He does have a 4 year old son that means the world to him. You can tell he's a great dad. He has him one week on and one week off but when making plans essentially told me to tell me when and he will make time for me. So I am hopeful for the future and enjoying the growing relationship we are having. And don't worry people-he's 31!!
My job is going well. It's been 6 months this weekend and I love it! I will have my formal review on Monday but my manager already told me that he's thrilled with how I am doing. CHristmas bonus and a raise are always nice christmas presents! :)
