two in a week?!?
so today i started my mentoring, and it was quite an experience. i really enjoyed it, but i did almost cry though...this one girl asked me if i was adopted and i said no, so she says "oh...well i've been adopted twice", catching me off guard i responded by saying "oh that's really unique" and i thought i handled the situation rather well until the other little girl sitting next to her says "i've never been adopted, i'm just living in foster homes" yeah i felt awful, and what do i say to that? i told them that we should stop chattering and get back to working on math. so they did. it's just sad to see all these kids without real families falling behind in the school system because they don't have any stability, they don't have someone making sure they do their homework, or making sure they have warm clothes and food. anyway it was an experience.... tomorrow i am going to boston to visit emile, it's our 1 yr 6 month anniversary...yay us...i don't really have enough money to do anything that great, seeing him will be enough. hooray for 4 day weekends....ok i'm out of here.
