More image board stuff

A few more image board scans were posted on 2ch, which are of much better quality than my crappy digital camera pics, so here they are. And I thought I might as well provide a proper translation of the page with America the Kamina look-a-like, since a couple people were saying they wanted to write fanfiction based on it. It might be helpful, I dunno. ^^;

Unused Image Boards

-Street lights in the shape of robot faces. Drawn as one of the incidental details of Kamina City.

-A draft of the entrance of Cytomander's battleship, Daigunten. At first, it had the image of appearing along with a tornado, but for reasons such as how it would increase preparations needed for the scene, this was omitted from the story.

-Unused image boards for episode 21. At an orphanage in the countryside far from the city, Yoko works as a volunteer teacher. There, you can also see a male teacher who somehow looks similar to Kamina...... This was drawn before the scenario was completed, and is said to greatly reflect Daisuke Kikuchi's "wishful thinking."

-A pastoral world drawn with subdued colors which bring to mind Nippon Animation's Masterpiece Theater series or Studio Ghibli's works. A sort of mood like he is being teased "You like Yoko-sensei, don't you~?" by inadvertently precocious children.

And so this post won't be completely superfluous, here's some pages from the Early Image Boards section of the book.

The image board at the top shows Leeron, Yoko, Simon, and Kamina. Though it doesn't say who the pink-haired person next to Simon is, I'd like to think that it's supposed to be Nia. >.> The image board beneath it shows an early image of one of the Four Generals, the "boss of fire" who's in charge of volcanic areas. It was planned that the other generals would be the bosses of wind, water, and earth, so I guess this "boss of fire" eventually became Thymilph.

Top image board: Early idea of an enemy mecha, "Super Giant Aerial Battleship Blue Whale." It flies around protecting the capital, along with single-pilot shark-shaped mecha.
Bottom: Early image of Simon.

Aaaand the second page of the unused epilogue, because it's pretty.

(Randomly, I noticed that on one of the image boards of Viral's first appearance, he's described "Smart and cool. Makes girls go kyaaaaaa." Lulz.)
